What is Baptism?
Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and named and claimed as children of God; we become members of the Body of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in the mission of the Christ! Through the life-giving waters of baptism, we become part of the royal, priestly people of God, called to lives of prayer and service in world.
At Saint Maria Goretti Parish we look forward to celebrating the Sacrament of Baptism with you and your family! Baptisms may be scheduled at 12:30 pm, on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month. Also you may celebrate your baby’s Baptism any Sunday at one of the regularly scheduled weekend masses.
Please call the rectory at 412-682-2354 to schedule your child’s baptism and the preparation class for the celebration of this sacrament of God’s great love for each of us and all of us.
Please remember that Godparents will need a letter of recommendation from their pastors.
